1800 Draped Bust $1 - PCGS AU50
~ B-12. Beautiful original light gray toning on the devices blending to
a deeper blue-gray color in the fields, sharply struck with excellent detail
throughout the design, smooth even wear with clean surfaces for the grade, no adjustment marks, remaining
luster around the peripheries. Most examples of Draped Bust dollars show evidence of
mishandling or cleaning. This wonderful high-end circulated early dollar is a
delightful exception. A fabulous type coin! |

1849 Seated Liberty $1 - NGC MS62 ~
Bright
semi-prooflike surfaces overlaid with a very light golden patina. The
well-defined design details display a hint of the characteristic weakness on
Liberty's head and eagle's left leg and neck, much less than is normally
seen. A few scattered marks are visible on both sides, none of which are
distracting and within the technical parameters for the grade. An obscure
mint-caused grease mark under the N of United is noted for accuracy.
Curiously, there is a slight reverse die rotation in relation to the
obverse. With a mere 62,600 pieces produced, this
date in uncirculated condition is rare, underrated and difficult to locate
with nice eye appeal. This conservatively graded example, which has more
'pizzazz' than the photos suggest, represents great value and a noteworthy
opportunity for the collector. |

1869 Seated Liberty $1 - PCGS PR63DCAM ~
Brilliant,
flashy deeply-mirrored surfaces provide a stunning black and white contrast
with the heavily frosted devices, well struck except for slight weakness in
the eagle's left leg feathers, no distracting spots or marks, a few
unobtrusive wispy hairlines prevent a higher grade. A miniscule
struck-through depression, probably a fiber remnant from a worker wiping the
dies with a cloth before the coin was struck, is noted for accuracy near
star 10 on the obverse. Mintage was a scant 600. The photos don't do justice to
this
absolutely gorgeous coin for the grade! |

Uncertified
Rainbow-Toned Morgan $1 ~

housed for decades in an old-time Wayte Raymond National Coin Album. Each coin is
brilliant and well struck for the date/mint, displays lustrous cartwheel
luster with
minor surface ticks and lines that define the grade, and has acquired very
eye-catching blue/red/gold obverse peripheral toning.

difference. |
